First impressions of Testo Lab Pro with Ashwagandha
Everything about the Testo Lab Pro from its website to the packaging indicates that theirs is a technologically advanced approach to supplementation. The box and plastic bottle inside has a bold design that gives the impression of something that would look at home on the shelves of an upmarket pharmacy.
I’ve used ashwagandha several times before but never KSM-66, so I was keen to see if it made any difference. Along with the ashwagandha you also get:
- Vitamin D – 50mcg
- Vitamin K1 and K2 – 50mcg
- Magnesium – 50mg
- Zinc – 30mg
- Boron – 6mg
- D-Aspartic Acid Calcium Chelate – 600mg
- Mucuna Pruriens Extract – 300mg
- Luteolin – 60mg
Testo Lab Pro is designed to ‘optimise every stage of testosterone production’ including blocking substances that are likely to deactivate it. With claims like ‘Increases T up to 17%, Boosts muscle strength, size, recovery. Fortitude, focus and masculine power’ I was keen to get started.
Who makes Testo Lab Pro?
Testo Lab Pro is made by Opti-Nutra. Opti-Nutra is an international supplier of high-performance supplements with facilities in the US. Each product is designed and formulated in the UK and then manufactured in New Jersey, US. They use the latest science to produce biologically active versions of vitamins and minerals.
Over several decades, fruits and vegetables have been slowly losing their nutritional value from beneficial vitamins and minerals. As these essential nutrients get leached from the soil, they no longer pass into plants in the volumes necessary for healthy diets. To combat this, Opti-Nutra creates supplements that can be added to a balanced diet to improve health and wellbeing and sports performance.
Instead of using whole foods or standard synthetic methods, they use a technique they call Nutrigenesis. Nutrigenesis is a method of producing specific nutrients in lab conditions from single-celled organisms like yeast. The result is nutrients in a form that is highly potent and can be quickly recognised and absorbed by your body.
All of the ingredients they used are subject to numerous safety checks at every stage of production, and the majority are patented versions that have been proven to be highly effective and fast-acting. Most of their formulations are free from GMO, soy, allergens, gluten, synthetic additives and suitable for vegans. The Testo Lab Pro is one of the few items from Opti-Nutra that is suitable for vegetarians but not for vegans.
Awards and certifications
Opti-Nutra and is FDA registered, certified as achieving the standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and has a USDA organic certification.
They are also certified by the Natural products Association and are European Supplement Commission compliant. On their website, they detail molecular level testing that is conducted at multiple stages to ensure that each product is up to scratch. They also say that they employ a third-party to verify their results and verify their standards.
The level of authorisation and verification here is beyond anything that I’ve seen from any brand before. The only drawback is that there are no examples of the results of these tests and quality analysis. For me, the final step would be to see an example of the analysis with the product to verify the precise contents and screening for contaminants.
I would have awarded a higher score if: There was a copy of the third-party analysis available for customers to view.
Ease of use
Capsules are likely one of the most straightforward ways to consume a supplement. These are large, but I found it easy to swallow the recommended serving of two capsules with a small amount of water. The shells are patented as NutriCaps, made entirely of fermented tapioca and are entirely vegan. They are designed to dissolve quickly and cleanly in your stomach, allowing the fine powder inside to absorb effectively in your gut.

The bottle is lightweight yet sturdy, and although I’ve taken my daily measure at home in the morning, they would be easy to take with you in a pocket or bag. The only extra I would’ve liked to have seen is a child-safe cap, they aren’t standard for supplements, but they would be a welcome addition.
Taste
The capsules have no noticeable flavour and added no taste to the water as I swallowed them.
How effective are they?
KSM-66 Ashwagandha has been shown in several studies to have an impressive effect on the growth of muscle. Of the many other studies into testosterone production, some suggest that taking vitamins and minerals, particularly zinc and vitamin D. The research backs up the formulation of the Testo Lab Pro, so I was expecting good results.
Before I started these, I hadn’t had any other supplements for at least two months, so I was pleased that they contained a broad range of vitamins and minerals to give me a general health boost as well as targeting the testosterone. Standard treatments to raise testosterone promise effects in between 4 weeks to 3 months, so I wasn’t expecting anything to happen quickly.
The first week showed no differences, and I even noticed a few more tension headaches than usual. But later, after the first week, I noticed a dramatic change in my mood to an extremely positive state of mind that I’d not seen in a while. From here, things continued to improve. Now having used the full thirty days supply, I’ve noticed a general improvement in energy, mood and focus.
Although I think it’s too soon to tell about an increase in testosterone-related results, the effect on other areas of my life has been impressive. I’ve taken several supplements designed to boost energy and mood before, and none have been as effective as this one.
Value for money
A month’s supply for £52.45 plus shipping and handling places this at the premium end of the market. However, not only do I think it’s worth it, but I’ve already ordered a second bottle. I can’t personally say that at this point I’ve noticed an increase in muscle mass, but I’ve only been taking them for a month and do very little resistance training. The studies around ashwagandha indicate that an effective formulation like KSM-66 is likely to have potent results.
Although I’ve never been concerned about my testosterone levels or wanted to increase them, the Testo Lab Pro had such a broad range of effects that I’ve found it worthwhile.
I would have awarded a higher score if: it was a lower price.
