Mind Lab Pro Review

9.1
Mind Lab Pro

Mind Lab Pro is a universal nootropic that Opti-Nutra has designed to get “your brain firing on all cylinders”. It’s a complex supplement made with eleven different nootropics. Opti-Nutra is known for making potent, research-based supplements using patented lab techniques that make their ingredients effective and quick to absorb.

A bottle contains 60 capsules which, with a recommended serving of two per day gives you a months supply. However, the web site’s FAQ page suggests that you could take four capsules on days when you need extra focus and clarity. It also advises that you should take them in a cycle of four weeks on, one week off, or five days on, two days off.

With each serving, you get 500mg of a full-spectrum extract of Lion’s mane mushroom alongside other superfoods, herbs and substances known for their effect on focus, memory and clarity. I’ve just completed a months course of the recommended serving of two capsules per day.

First Impressions

Mind Lab Pro comes from Opti-Nutra, who also produce the cutting-edge Performance Lab range of supplements. Similar to Performance Lab, Mind Lab Pro is presented as a technologically advanced approach to supplementation. The website and label are packed with useful additional information to answer all your questions and demonstrate the science behind their chosen formula.

I’ve tried several brain-boosting supplements in the past, but they were based on one or two nootropics instead of the eleven found here. Mind Lab Pro is designed to stimulate different pathways in the brain to create a more significant overall effect on your focus, concentration and brain-power. I’ve used Lion’s mane before, so I was keen to see if the additional ingredients made a difference.

Along with Lion’s mane mushroom you also get:

Citicoline (250mg) – Useful for brain cell regeneration and repair.

Phosphatidylserine (100mg) – From sunflower lecithin; may slow memory loss and enhance clarity.

Bacopa Monnieri (150mg) – Water hyssop; linked to memory function and learning.

Lion’s mane mushroom (500mg) – Studies link it to many brain-boosting functions.

Maritime pine bark extract (75mg) – Linked to enhanced mental energy and focus.

L-Tyrosine (175mg) – May enhance working memory and improve mental performance when under stress.

L-Theanine (100mg) – May promote calm, alertness and focus.

Rhodiola Rosea (50mg) – Believed to stimulate critical neurotransmitters.

Vitamins B6, B9 and B12 (2.5mg, 100mg, 7.5mg) – Included to promote cognitive performance and reduce any decline in brain function from ageing.

Who is Opti-Nutra?

Opti-Nutra is an international manufacturer of high-performance supplements based in the UK with facilities in the US. Most of their products are designed and formulated in the UK and then manufactured in New Jersey, US. They use the latest science to produce biologically active versions of vitamins and minerals and include them in precisely formulated health products.

Instead of using whole foods or standard synthetic methods, Opti-Nutra uses a range of patented techniques to provide beneficial, plants, herbs and compounds in their most active, easily absorbed form. This means that their products are known to be quick acting and offer real results to their millions of customers worldwide. Where possible, they include the standardised versions of natural products which means that you get a better ratio of the precise substances that provide the benefits.

Most of Opti-Nutra’s products, including Mind Lab Pro, are free from GMO, soy, allergens, gluten, caffeine, synthetic additives and banned substances. Some, including this one, are also suitable for vegans.

Awards and Certifications

Optinutra is FDA registered, certified as achieving the standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and has a USDA organic certification.

They are also certified by the Natural products Association and are European Supplement Commission compliant. On the Mind Lab Pro website and the Optinutra site, they detail molecular level testing that is conducted at multiple stages to ensure that each product is up to scratch. They also say that they employ a third-party to verify their results and verify their standards.

The level of authorisation and verification here is beyond anything that I’ve seen from any brand before. The only drawback is that there are no examples of the results of these tests and quality analysis. It’s important that customers should be able to access details about the lab providing any third-party assurance and see an example of the results to verify the precise contents and screening for contaminants.

I would have awarded a higher score if: There was a copy of the third-party analysis available for customers to view.

Ease of Use

Capsules are likely one of the most straightforward ways to consume a supplement. These are large, but I found it easy to swallow the recommended serving of two capsules with a small amount of water. The shells are patented as NutriCaps, made entirely of fermented tapioca and are entirely vegan. They are designed to dissolve quickly and cleanly in your stomach, allowing the fine powder inside to absorb effectively in your gut.

The information and directions on the packet and website are second to none. There is a detailed explanation about each ingredient, and the FAQs section allows you to explore many of Opti-Nutra’s processes in more detail.

The bottle is lightweight yet sturdy, and although I’ve taken my daily measure at home in the morning, they would be easy to take with you in a pocket or bag. The only extra I would’ve liked to have seen is a child-safe cap, they aren’t standard for supplements, but they would be a welcome addition.

Taste

The capsules have no noticeable flavour and added no taste to the water as I swallowed them.

How Effective Are They?

I often struggle with concentration and brain fog during work and even a lack of clarity during my downtime. As a result, I’ve tried numerous nootropics in an effort to be more focused and productive. I know that Lion’s mane mushroom works well for me, so I was looking forward to trying Mind Lab Pro.

Some customers have mentioned results within just a few days, or even hours; for me, it took longer, but I was still impressed. Having taken two a day for about ten days, I noticed that my productivity increased dramatically. I was able to maintain my focus on single projects without becoming distracted for much longer than normal. By the end of the month, I’d experienced improved focus, a clear-headed drive and even my energy levels seemed to have improved.

I would have awarded a higher score if: I had noticed the results sooner.

Value for Money

A month’s supply will cost you £40, plus shipping, which makes this one of the more expensive nootropics available in the UK. I also think that at this premium price point customers should be able to access all the details about any third-party testing.

However, Mind Lab Pro is packed with more beneficial ingredients than its competitors, and Opti-Nutra has precisely formulated it to deliver impressive results. I was so impressed with the quality of this supplement and the attention to detail that went into its development that I still consider it to be excellent value.

I would have awarded a higher score if: it was more affordable.
