Foodspring Daily Vitamins Review

Foodspring Daily Vitamins

Besides protein and energy products, sports nutrition company Foodspring offers an extensive range of vitamins and supplements. I’ve been using their daily vitamins capsules that contain a blend of extracts and powders from fruit and vegetables. They’re best taken alongside a balanced diet, however, if you sometimes struggle to get the correct nutrients in every meal they aim to provide 100% of the recommended daily intake of several vitamins and minerals including vitamins A, C, D, E, B1, B2, B6 and B12.

In one small tub, you get 100 capsules, which will last you for about one and a half months if you take the recommended serving of two per day. Although they’re suitable for most people, they’re mainly suited for those with an active lifestyle and are ideal if you want to support your own peak physical performance.

First Impressions

What’s most impressive about this product is the naturally sourced wholefood ingredients. Each item is gently processed to preserve the maximum beneficial ingredients and nutrients. Foodspring says that they choose naturally sourced vitamins because they’re better quality and can be better absorbed in your body. Also, the capsules themselves are made from plant-based cellulose so they’re suitable for vegans and vegetarians. However, it’s important to note that the same processing equipment may also be used for items containing eggs and milk.

The active ingredients include a mix of vegetable extracts, vegetable powder, fruit extracts, fruit powder, apple powder, orange powder, spirulina algae powder, apple pectin, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid and biotin.

Who are foodspring?

Foodspring are a German brand who aim to revolutionise sports nutrition with simple, high-quality products. Everything they produce is designed to support your body when working at its maximum and keep you in top physical shape. To do this, they pay close attention to where they source their raw materials and how they’re treated. For their Daily Vitamins, Foodspring source the fruits and vegetables from carefully selected European farms that don’t use pesticides or artificial fertilisers.

As well as protein, energy snacks and vitamins, they also stock premixed recipe packs, and supplements such as l-carnitine, branched-chain amino acids (BCAA), creatine, L-glutamine and omega-3.

Awards and Certifications

Foodspring makes several mentions of some products having an organic certification on their website. It also displays the EU organic leaf logo near the footer; however, it’s unclear which products this applies to. They also mention other official accreditations including Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (a rigorous food safety system), ISO (safety and manufacturing standards) and BIO, but I couldn’t find any corresponding certificates or evidence.

I would have awarded a higher score if: evidence was provided of official certification or standards achieved.

Taste

Some plant-based capsules can have an unpleasant musty taste, but these didn’t. When I swallowed them with a small sip of water, I noticed barely any flavour.

Ease of Use

The cardboard tub is easy to use, and the wide lid makes it particularly simple to reach in and pick out a capsule. Unfortunately, the flip side is that it’s not incredibly secure. I prefer any supplement I take to have a childsafe lid. This provides the necessary precaution if there are any youngsters in the house and ensures the top stays on if you carry it around in a bag. The capsules themselves are relatively large, but I found them easy to swallow with a small amount of water.

I would have awarded a higher score if: the cap secured easier and if the tub was small enough to carry in a pocket.

Effectiveness / Potency

I chose these vitamins because I’ve been advised to increase my intake of green vegetables, and sometimes I’m concerned I still don’t get enough. Although I’d prefer to add the vegetables to my meals, I don’t always find it’s possible, so these give me peace of mind. During the 50 days, I took them I was confident that they supported my good health. I felt energised and able to go about my daily like and regular exercise. It’s hard to measure the effects of multivitamins, but I would definitely choose these again in the future.

I would have awarded a higher score if: the positive effects were more obvious.

Value for Money

For £19.99 you get a 100 capsules packed with fruit and veg goodness. If you opt for ‘regular delivery’ you can also get a further 10% off. For a product that contains such a range of vitamins from high-quality real food sources, this is great value.

You don’t get the vast range of ingredients that some multivitamins include, but they’re still a great option, particularly if you’re on a budget. Comparatively, they’re a similar price to Feel multivitamins and considerably cheaper than Multi for men by performance lab; however, both contain a much broader range of ingredients including numerous necessary minerals.

I would have awarded a higher score if: there was a broader range of vitamins and minerals

Overview

These daily vitamins are a great budget option if you need something to top up your diet. The active ingredients are sourced from high-quality fruit and veg sources to make them easy to absorb into your gut. I’d prefer to see some evidence of Foodspring’s accreditations and clarify which of their products are certified organic. They’re easy to use and don’t have an unpleasant flavour.
